The design methodology has changed dramatically in recent years.  Just as CAD programs replaced manual drafting as the drawing method of choice, 3D modeling has replaced 2D drawing as the preferred design development method.
The advantage of a 3D design is it allows clients to visualize exactly what a new machine will look like and how it will successfully fit into the plant. With more productive project reviews, physical interference checking, and accurate bills of material, the 3D modeling process greatly reduces costly changes and delays during manufacturing without additional engineering design costs.
