Matrix achieved CSIA Certified Member status for the sixth time
Jul 13, 2016
CSIA’s mission is to “advance the industry of control system integration”. To do so, CSIA has developed a Certified Member program that uses independent third party auditors to evaluate how well members employ the CSIA-developed Best Practices and Benchmarks. After achieving Certified Member, the integrator must successfully pass the comprehensive audit every three years to retain the status.
Implementing the CSIA best practices and preparing for the audit process requires top-level commitment. The lessons learned during the audit preparation are valuable inputs to Matrix Technologies’ continuous improvement program. “The audit process is a great way for Matrix to assist our drive for continuous improvements within our organization,” said David Bishop, President and CEO of Matrix Technologies.
The audit process covers nine areas critical to project success: general management; human resources; marketing, business development, and sales; financial management; project management; system development lifecycle; supporting activities; quality assurance; and service and support. “Maintaining CSIA Certified Integrator status provides our customers with an assurance that our business practices and project methodology are the best in the industry,” said Charlie Sheets, Director of the Industrial Systems Division.
This process has demonstrated Matrix Technologies’ commitment to employing processes of the highest caliber to meet and exceed stakeholder needs. Matrix is classified as a level one company with CSIA and successfully demonstrated continuous improvement in 8 out of the 9 areas. Highest marks of continuous improvement were achieved in the areas of project planning, training and development, strategic management, and service and support.
