Matrix Technologies has purchased a 350/450kW Cummins Diesel Generator! The generator was installed at the Maumee Headquarters on Thursday,
April 6, 2017. This represents a major capital investment as the company is reinvesting its’ profits to prevent any customer service disruption. As part of our overall business continuity plan, we continually make investments and improvements in our operations to ensure we remain a consistent and reliable resource for our customers.
A recent study by the Department of Energy found that financial losses from power outages at data centers ranged from $20,000 to $2 million per occurrence. Additionally, loss of any productivity for our engineers can lead to inefficiencies and potential project delays. Matrix is focused on providing high-availability computer and information systems, and this begins with reliable and consistent power.
Having a well-designed and well-maintained standby power system is the best protection against utility power outages. According to the industry group Diesel Technology Forum, diesel-powered generators provide the most reliable form of emergency backup power, and can start/assume full-rated load in less than 10 sec. Coupled with our in-house UPS systems, power availability will no longer be a concern for our headquarters and in turn, our regional office locations will retain full connectivity to the corporate computer and communication systems.
