Matrix Technologies, Inc. Names New Shareholders in the Corporation!

Matrix Technologies, Inc., one of the largest system integration and industrial engineering firms in North America, is pleased to announce the addition of six new shareholders in the corporation, Lisa Behrendt, Rob Goldsmith, Todd Green, Mike Johnson, Dan Pruss and Brett Rygalski.

Lisa Behrendt, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, Director of HRLisa Behrendt

Lisa was hired as the Director of Human Resources in August 2012. She has a Bachelor of Business degree with a specialization in Human Resources from the University of Toledo. In addition, Lisa has the SHRM-SCP and SPHR certifications.

Since 2012, Lisa has been instrumental in implementing new technology, tools, and processes for the HR department and Matrix employees. She has focused on enhancing our employee benefits, compensation, and training opportunities in addition to helping senior management improve communication practices. Recruiting efforts at Matrix have increased greatly since 2012, offer acceptance rates have gone up, employee turnover rates are down, and promotions per year have increased. In 2015, Matrix was given the Human Resources Management Award for Excellence by the University of Toledo.

Rob Goldsmith, Senior Project ManagerRob Goldsmith

Rob began his career with Matrix Technologies, Inc. as a co-op in 2003. He has held numerous positions including Engineer, Project Engineer, and more recently Senior PM. He has a Bachelor of Science, Bioengineering from The University of Toledo. Prior to Matrix, Rob completed co-ops in the health care industry.

Rob has primary experience managing projects that involve the design, documentation, programming, installation, and validation of control systems for the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.

Todd Green, PE, SI, CFPS, Department Manager, FacilitiesTodd Green

Todd began his career with Matrix Technologies, Inc. in 2008 as an Associate Engineer. He has held numerous positions at Matrix including Engineer, Project Engineer, and Associate Department Manager. He has a Master’s of Science in Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Toledo. Todd is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio, Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, South Carolina, and Texas. He also holds an SI certificate (Surveying Intern) and a CFPS (NFPA Certified Fire Protection Specialist) certification.

Todd has served as the project manager for numerous projects and clients bringing in millions of dollars in work. He has been instrumental in expanding Matrix service offerings to include topographic surveying which is a revenue generator for Matrix. Todd also played a key role in growing the facilities department to its current size.

Mike Johnson, PE, Department Manager, PICMike Johnson

Mike began his career with Matrix as an Associate Engineer in 2006. Since then he has held numerous positions including Engineer, Project Engineer, and Project Manager. He has a Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton. Mike is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio, Michigan, and Missouri.

Mike’s career led him through both the Engineering and Project Management divisions. Most recently, as the Manager of the Instrumentation Department, Mike has continued to prove his affinity for client relations by staying highly involved with some of our largest clients. Mike is currently in the process of expanding his department’s capabilities by establishing process safety services. Mike has become ISA certified in process safety in order to gain the technical knowledge required. He has developed a business strategy to launch these new services as in the process of executing that plan.

Dan Pruss, CPA, Chief Financial OfficerDan Pruss

Dan Pruss started his career with Matrix Technologies, Inc. in 2015. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Bowling Green State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Dan is responsible for overseeing the financial well-being of Matrix. He provides financial and accounting services and directs the finance and accounting staff. He is a seasoned accounting and finance executive who has experience with many areas including finance, budgeting, strategic planning, 401(k) plans, staff management, ERP implementation, metrics, IT, and purchasing. Dan has been instrumental in helping Matrix redesign and streamline processes, enhance the skill set of both accounting and IT staff, and improve the financial tracking and health in all areas of Matrix. Most recently, he lead the multi-discipline team that implemented our new ERP system, Deltek Vision.

Brett Rygalski, PE, LEED, Project ManagerBrett Rygalski

Brett began his career with Matrix Technologies, Inc. as a co-op in October 2006. He has held multiple positions including Associate Engineer, Engineer, Project Engineer, and Associate Department Manager. He has a Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering from the University of Toledo and a Masters of Business Administration from Bowling Green State University. Brett is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio, New York, and the Virgin Islands. He is also LEED certified.

Brett has been instrumental in running many of our larger multi-discipline engineering projects and developing our relationships. He is currently managing over 30 active projects with over $7 million dollars in authorized purchase orders and approximately $1.2 million in labor backlog.
